The apricots in our Juicy Apricot, Orange & Ginger bars are sun-kissed, soft, smooth and are sweet to taste with a subtle tartness. The sweetness in our bars comes naturally from this beautiful fruit. There are no sulphates in our apricots and there is nothing artificial added to our delicious bars.
Refreshingly fruity blackcurrants give our bar a longer lasting intense berry flavour. These little fruits are rich in colour and give our Moist Mixed Berry bar its uniqueness. These little summer berries come to life in June as that's the best time to harvest them.
Natural sweet strawberries give our bar its wonderfully fragrant sweet taste and texture. We love strawberries in our Scrumptious Strawberry bar because they remind us of all things summer. The strawberry is a member of the rose family, the plant produces these succulent red fruit from white flowers.
Give your taste buds a wake-up call with our Marvellous Mango bar with its vibrant colour and exotic taste. Mangoes are a really popular tropical fruit and are distributed worldwide. Our little guys come from Columbia where they are grown under the warm South American sun. Our Marvellous Mango bar is ideal for you and the family to enjoy as a dessert or dairy free snack that looks as good as it tastes.
Our cranberries add a clean, zingy taste to our Moist Mixed Berry bars and will leave your taste buds yearning for more. Small but mighty, cranberries are naturally low in sugar and tart to taste, hence why these little beauties are infused with pineapple juice. They come to life in North America every Autumn, mid September until mid November.
Mouth-watering raspberries are added to our Radiant Raspberry bar to give an authentic, fruity raspberry flavour. Raspberries have a clean sweetness to them with a tart undertone, making them quite sour but tantalisingly tasty. Our raspberries are harvested, dried and made into a powder to lock in flavour.
Pineapples have exceptional tropical flavour with a fabulous balance of sweet and tart. The pineapples in our Tangy Pineapple, Coconut & Lime bar are harvested in Columbia, South America. They give our bars a fabulous yellow tone and vibrant sweet flavour. We feel that pineapple is a 'star fruit' and this is reflected in its history as it was discovered in 1493 on the Caribbean island that came to be known as Guadalupe.
The orange juice in our Juicy Apricot, Orange & Ginger bar adds a tangy citrus zing to compliment the natural sweetness that comes from lovely soft Apricots. Oranges are the sweetest of all citrus fruits but still hold a slight tartness that makes our bar a true taste sensation.
The glorious wholegrain gluten free oats gives our bars substance and provides a source of fibre, vitmains and minerals. Oats are used in our bars to give a lovely soft texture and to balance out all those juicy fruit ingredients. We use wholegrain gluten free oats so Coeliacs can enjoy the taste of our fruity oat bars. Our British, wholegrain gluten free oats also offer an all-round body support system.
The oats in our delicious snack bars are made from 100% wholegrain which means that nothing is taken away, all of this amazing grain remains perfectly intact.
The soluble fibre in wholegrain oats is called beta-glucan which is known to help reduce blood cholesterol levels and protect against heart disease.
Gluten Free wholegrain oats have a slightly nutty flavour note which makes them ideal for our tasty bars.
WHAT ARE WHOLEGRAINS?
Why are wholegrains so important? Refined grains do not contain all parts of the grain but they are great too. Whole grains have not had their bran and germ removed by the milling, which makes them a rich source of soluble fibre, beta-glucan.
THE STRUCTURE OF A WHOLEGRAIN
Wholegrains contain all three parts of this lovely grain – the germ, endosperm and bran.
Bran. The bran is the coarse outer layer of the kernel, which contains the lovely fibre.
Endosperm. The endosperm is the largest section of the kernel and Its is the energy provider.
Germ. The germ smallest part of the wholegrain and is the embryo of the plant in its early stages.
Wholegrains keep everything and we mean everything moving along nicely. Wholegrains are well known for their fibre properties.
Wholegrains are also a source of magnesium and vitamin B which helps the body convert food to energy, prevent birth defects and may help to protect against heart disease.
Its the wholegrain gluten free oats in our bars that give it its fabulous baked texture and also balances out the strong flavours of our fruit.
